Olympic Steel’s Chicago Tube and Iron Under New Leadership
01/03/2020 - Metals service center Olympic Steel has promoted William Zielinski to president of its Chicago Tube and Iron (CTI) subsidiary, the company announced on Thursday.
Zielinski, who has served as CTI’s chief operating officer since 2016, will take on chief executive duties in addition to his current role. He succeeds former CTI president Donald R. McNeeley, who will now serve as chairman and assist in the transition.
Zielinski joined CTI in 1992 as a product manager and later served as inside sales manager, general manager, vice president – eastern region, vice president – marketing, and finally executive vice president and COO. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Northern Illinois University, an M.B.A. from Loyola University, and is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program at Texas
A&M University and the Metals Service Center Institute’s management program.
He also serves on the board of directors for the American Supply Association’s industrial pipe division and its educational foundation.
