Olympic Steel Announces Management Changes
02/24/2005 - David A. Wolfort, President & Chief Operating Officer of Olympic Steel, Inc. announced that Jerry Gea, Regional Vice President of the Eastern Region will retire effective March 1.
David A. Wolfort, President & Chief Operating Officer of Olympic Steel, Inc. announced that Jerry Gea, Regional Vice President of the Eastern Region will retire effective March 1.
Mr. Gea had a successful career spanning more than 35 years, including over 20 years with Olympic Steel. Over the years he has served in a variety of key leadership positions, including his most recent position. "Olympic Steel has been fortunate to have had the services and friendship of Jerry Gea. His leadership skills have propelled our entire East Coast presence from its inception to its present four operating locations," stated Mr. Wolfort.
Raymond Walker, in his role as Vice President Operations, will assume the additional responsibility of the Eastern Region and succeed Jerry as Regional Vice President of the Eastern Region. Mr. Walker brings a strong background in regional management, having previously supported several divisions as Regional Vice President of the Central Region. He has over 36 years of industry experience, including and over 19 years with Olympic Steel, Inc. Mr. Walker graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy. He also received his MBA in Management from Youngstown State University.

Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, the company operates 12 distribution and processing facilities and participates in two joint ventures in Michigan.
