Olympic Steel Announces Additions to Senior Management Team
02/04/2009 - Olympic Steel announces the appointment of Andrew S. Greiff as Vice President of Specialty Metals, and the promotion of Steven L. Larson to Director of Operations and Facilities,
Olympic Steel, Inc. announced the appointment of Andrew S. Greiff as Vice President of Specialty Metals, and the promotion of Steven L. Larson to Director of Operations and Facilities, effective immediately, Both will report directly to David Wolfort, President and Chief Operating Officer.
In his new position, Greiff will have corporate-wide responsibility for further growing Olympic’s stainless steel business and developing new markets for non-carbon products. He brings to his new position over 20 years of experience in management, operations, sales, purchasing and marketing, most of which has been in the metals distribution business.
Most recently Greiff served as President of International Metals Group, a metals distribution company located in Cleveland, Ohio. He previously held positions as Vice President of Sales with Cumberland Diversified Metals; as Vice President and General Manager for Bellesteel Industries; and various international positions with Thyssen and Krupp. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a minor in Economics, from Tulane University in New Orleans, La.
In his new position, Larson will have corporate-wide responsibilities for the company’s seventeen production facilities, including productivity, safety, maintenance, and new facility construction.
Larson began his career with Olympic Steel in March 1994, and has held the positions of Inventory Control Supervisor and Operations Manager at Olympic Steel’s Minneapolis Coil and Plate facilities. Most recently he served as Senior Project Analyst on the company’s new IT system project.
Prior to joining Olympic Steel, Larson was employed by Juster Steel. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and was also an Undergraduate Instructor at the University of Wisconsin for two years.
