Olympic Steel and Make-A-Wish Make Wishes Come True

May 31, 2006 — Olympic Steel, Inc. and the Make-A-Wish Foundation have partnered for the third consecutive year to grant the wishes for 5 children with life-threatening illnesses.

Olympic Steel, Inc. conducted their annual "Working for Wishes" campaign company-wide, including the combined efforts of all 950 employees from the company's 12 facilities. Each division ran their own campaign to help raise funds for the foundation with the initial goal of granting a single wish at a cost of $5,000. By the end of the first week, the first child's wish was granted. The momentum continued through the month-long event and concluded with $25,000 raised in support of The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The employees of Olympic Steel will have an opportunity to meet the wish children as they are invited into the local divisions, along with their families. Including the successful results of the 2006 campaign, Olympic Steel has granted 11 wishes and raised over $55,000 since 2004.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
