Old Port Poses An Obstacle to Wire Rod Mill Restart
07/28/2017 - Steel entrepreneur Sanjeev Gupta and his Liberty House Group are counting on using an aging port along the coast of South Carolina to serve a wire rod mil it hopes to acquire from ArcelorMittal and restart.
But there’s just one problem: state officials said the port has likely reached the end of its service life. And other area officials are hoping that the port will be redeveloped.
