This marks Nucor’s third order for Danieli’s MIDA QLP mini-mill technology. The new mini-mill will produce 410,000 tons per year of quality rebars from recycled steel scrap, melted by Danieli’s Digimelter^® and ladle furnace powered by Q-One^® digital power feeder.
 
A single-strand caster featuring Danieli’s Octocaster^® will feed the rolling mill in full endless mode.
 
Danieli Automation’s process technologies and artificial intelligence will be utilized, featuring Q3 pulpits for supervising the fully automated plant, robotized solutions, and the Q3-Met manufacturing execution system.
 
Production is expected to start by summer of 2024.
 
Nucor recently placed orders with Danieli for one QSP-DUE^® hot strip project and two cold strip projects.
