Nucor Wins High-Level Supplier Recognition from Customer
10/30/2017 - Heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc. has given Nucor Corp.'s special bar quality mill in Tennessee its highest rating under its supplier quality program, the steelmaker said on Monday.
According to Nucor, Caterpillar in September formally presented Nucor Steel Memphis with platinum-level status through the Supplier Quality Excellence Process. Caterpillar has been a mill customer since 2010, buying engineered long bar for use in track links, sprocket segments, idlers, ground engaging tools, hammer bits, transmission parts, gears and pins.
"This recognition by Caterpillar is a testament to our team's commitment to continually improve how we serve our customers. I want to congratulate each member of the Nucor Steel Memphis team for their hard work and dedication," Nucor chairman and chief executive John Ferriola said in a statement.
