Nucor Sets New World Record for Cold DRI Production
11/06/2024 - Nucor Corp.’s Louisiana direct reduction plant produced a record-shattering 330.3 tons per hour of cold direct reduced iron (CDRI) in August 2024, according to one of the mill’s equipment suppliers.
In an official press release, Tenova said Nucor Steel Louisiana’s use of ENERGIRON direct reduction technology helped achieve this production milestone while also reaching 98% operational reliability and 97.50% availability in 2024.
