Nucor Berkeley (South Carolina) has partnered with Quaker Chemical since production began in 1996. Quaker provides a variety of products to this mill including rolling oils, wet tempering fluids, cleaners, and rust preventives, including the brands Quakerol® and Ferrocote®.
The company also provides Steel Services Management, with Quaker's on-site technician overseeing all of the chemicals used in the mill. Quaker says the technician plays an integral role in mill operations, attending daily production meetings where safety is a key topic.
