Nucor Officially Cuts the Ribbon on New Plate Mill
10/09/2023 - Local and state leaders in Kentucky gathered with Nucor Corp. executives to cut the ribbon on the steelmaker’s new plate mill, reports The (Elizabethtown, Ky.) News-Enterprise newspaper.
According to the station, the US$1.7 billion mill is creating approximately 700 new jobs for state residents.
"This steel plate manufacturing mill provides opportunities for Kentucky workers, their families and the community in Meade County," said Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear in a statement. "I want to thank Nucor’s leadership for their continued commitment to the commonwealth."
