“John has been instrumental in Nucor’s incredible growth, and we are grateful for his experience and leadership in getting our West Virginia sheet mill project from concept to construction. We will miss John greatly, but after more than three decades at Nucor, his retirement is well deserved,” the company said in a statement.

Jacobs previously served as vice president and general manager of construction at Nucor's corporate headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., USA. Prior to that role, he was vice president and general manager at the company’s new steel plate mill in Brandenburg, Ky., USA.
