Nucor Mill Commissions Water Treatment Plant
05/12/2020 - Commissioning of the Danieli-built water treatment plant at Nucor’s new Missouri rebar mill has been completed, Danieli has announced.
In a statement, Danieli said the plant incorporates several design features that minimized civil construction. Among those features is a Danieli Zero-Scale Separator, which avoided the need to dig a scale pit, and a fiberglass tank in place of a concrete basin.
“The pumping station is comprised of vertical pumps to reduce the amount of piping needed, as well as civil work requirements,” Danieli said.
To further expedite construction and installation, plant components were pre-assembled on skids at the Danieli workshop and then shipped to the mill site.
The mill entered service earlier this year and is ramping up production.
