Nucor Mill Adds Lime Injection to Two Furnaces
02/28/2020 - Nucor Corp. recently commissioned a new pneumatic lime injection system at its facility in Plymouth, Utah, USA , reports EAF equipment manufacturer MORE s.r.l
MORE installed L-ONE high-efficiency lime injectors at the mill’s two electric arc furnaces. The injectors are set in machined copper bulged blocks equipped with FLASH STOP technology that prevents damage from backfires. MOLI pneumatic lime dispensers will transport lime from external day bins to each EAF.
The new system has yielded seen positive results, improving overall furnace performance and reducing lime costs.
