Nucor Announces Human Resources and Talent Promotions
04/24/2025 - Nucor Corp. announced today the promotion of Thomas J. Batterbee to executive vice president of human resources and talent and Elizabeth Bledsoe to president of human resources and talent, effective 11 May 2025.
"Tom is an exceptional leader whose passion for our teammates and more than 35 years of experience with Nucor have positioned him well to take on this new responsibility," said Leon Topalian, Nucor’s chair, president and chief executive officer.
Batterbee began at Nucor Building Systems Indiana in 1989. In 2007, he was promoted to general manager of Nucor Building Systems Texas and proceeded to serve as general manager of Vulcraft New York, Nucor Buildings Group Utah and Nucor Steel–South Carolina. He was promoted to vice president in 2017 and received his current role as president of the Vulcraft/Verco Group in 2023.
“Beth brings a wealth of experience in human resources and talent development and will be a great addition to our leadership team," said Topalian.
Bledsoe recently served as senior vice president of human resources and chief people officer for metalworking and maintenance distributer MSC Industrial Direct Co. Inc. Before that, she served in human resource roles at Ingersoll Rand PLC for about 19 years.
"Tom and Beth's combined expertise will help us build on our strong culture and will be invaluable in continuing to advance our ongoing initiatives for the growth, retention and development of all Nucor teammates,” Topalian said.
