Nucor Allocates US$85M to Bar Mill Modernization
03/27/2017 - Nucor Corp. said it plans to invest US $85 million in upgrades to its Marion, Ohio, bar mill, the steelmaker has announced.
The mill, which makes rebar and signpost, has an annual capacity of more than 400,000 tons. Nucor said the investment is aimed at modernizing the plant’s rolling mill.
"Updating the technology used in the rolling mill will help Nucor Steel Marion maintain a cost-competitive position by reducing operating costs allowing us to better serve our customers in Ohio and surrounding states,” said Nucor chairman and chief executive John Ferriola in a statement.
