November Steel Shipments Down 1.2% from October
02/08/2011 - U.S. steel mills shipped 6,549,025 net tons for the month of November 2010, a 1.2% decrease from the 6,629,195 net tons shipped in October 2010, and a 20.7% increase from the 5,424,077 net tons shipped in November 2009, according to the latest report from AISI.
U.S. steel mills shipped 6,549,025 net tons for the month of November 2010, according to the latest report from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
The November total represents a 1.2% decrease from the 6,629,195 net tons shipped in the previous month, October 2010, and a 20.7% increase from the 5,424,077 net tons shipped in November 2009.
For the 2010 year to date, shipments are 76,332,805 net tons, a 40.5% increase vs. eleven-month 2009 shipments of 54,312,172 net tons. 2010 shipments through November would annualize at 83.3 million tons.
A month-to-month comparison of shipments shows the following changes:
· Hot rolled sheet, up 2%
· Hot dip galvanized sheet and strip, no change
· Cold rolled sheet, down 1%
