Northwest Pipe Facility Earns ISO Certification, API License

Northwest Pipe Co. recently completed the American Petroleum Institute's (API) audit for 5L and 5CT at its Bossier City facility.

The Bossier City facility, which manufactures electric resistance welded (ERW) steel pipe for the company's Tubular Products Group, has an estimated annual capacity of 125,000 tons. The addition of the API license means the facility can begin production of carbon grade casing and line pipe. The facility also will continue to supply green tubes suitable for upgrade to a select group of API processors.

“Successfully completing the API audit and receiving our API license for 5L and 5CT is a major milestone and exciting opportunity for our Bossier City facility,” said Rich Roman, CEO, Northwest Pipe Co.

Bob Mahoney, President of Northwest Pipe's Tubular Products Group added “Our API certification will position this facility to produce both OCTG casing products and line pipe. It is part of our continuing Tubular Products strategy to grow our energy products offerings.”

Northwest Pipe comprises two business groups.
