Northwest Pipe Announces Mexican Pipe Order

Oct. 11, 2006 — Northwest Pipe Co. has been selected to furnish approximately $22 million of large-diameter pipe for the Rio Colorado project in Baja California, Mexico.

The company will supply approximately 27 miles of 54- and 60-inch diameter steel pipe to Administradora de Obras Y Concesiones, a Mexican corporation. Northwest Pipe says primary manufacture of the pipe will be at its Adelanto, Calif., plant with some components produced at the Monterrey, Mexico, facility. The pipe will be delivered during the first three quarters of 2007.

Management believes the order represents a milestone in serving the Mexican market. The company says it expects Mexico to be an important and growing market in the foreseeable future.
