Northwest Pipe Announces Major California Order

March 14, 2006 — Northwest Pipe Co. has been named as pipe supplier to Black & Veatch Construction, Inc. to supply approximately $15 million of welded steel pipe for the Perris Valley Pipeline Project.

Northwest Pipe has received a notice to proceed from Black & Veatch to supply approximately 35,000 feet of 96- and 108-inch diameter steel pipe. The company expects to manufacture the pipe at its Adelanto, Calif., division with delivery scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2006.

When the pipeline is complete it will provide substantial water reliability and quality benefits to a significant portion of western Riverside County, Calif.


Northwest Pipe Co. manufactures welded steel pipe in three business segments. Its Water Transmission Group is a leading supplier of large diameter, high-pressure steel pipe products that are used primarily for water transmission in the United States and Canada. Its Tubular Products Group manufactures smaller diameter steel pipe for a wide range of construction, agricultural, energy, industrial and mechanical applications. Its Fabricated Products Group manufactures propane tanks and other fabricated products.
