NLMK Quality Management System Meets International Standards, Audit Confirms
06/21/2013 - A combined audit by the British Standards Institution has confirmed that NLMK Lipetsk production site management systems meet international standards.
A combined audit by the British Standards Institution has confirmed that NLMK Lipetsk production site management systems meet international standards. The auditors also gave a positive review of the steps that NLMK took in light of recommendations made following the previous audit.
During the integrated audit the BSI auditors evaluated the quality, environment, occupational health & safety and energy management systems.
NLMK became one of the first steelmaking companies to undergo an integrated audit covering four management systems simultaneously:
· ISO 9001:2008 Quality management systems – Requirements;
· ISO 14001:2004 Environmental management systems – Requirements;
· OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements;
· ISO 50001:2011 Energy management systems – Requirements with guidance for use”.
The BSI auditors inspected the sinter and coking plants; the blast furnace and blast oxygen furnace operations; as well as rolling, repair and auxiliary shops.
