NLMK Group’s Shipments to OMK Hits 5-Million-Ton Mark
09/27/2019 - A partnership between Russia’s NLMK Group and OMK Group’s Vyksa Steel Works has reached a milestone, with NLMK having shipped 5 million metric tons of slabs from its Lipetsk site to Vyksa Steel for conversion into heavy plate and large-diameter pipe.
The two companies established this process chain in Russia in 2012.
“An integrated pipe production chain developed by OMK and NLMK enabled us to displace imports and supply Russian energy companies with top-quality goods. Russian-made, large-diameter pipes are used in the construction of large-scale international and Russian gas and oil pipelines. As a result, we have practically eliminated large-diameter pipe imports,” Eduard Stepantsov, OMK Head of Commercial Department, said.
