NISCO Plate Mill Controlled by TMEIC Automatic Control Software State-of-the-Art Solution Delivers Robust Control and Functionality.

TMACS use a high-speed optical network and shared memory to tightly integrate all control functions, including Level 1 PLC control, Level 2 supervisory control, rolling mill models, operator interfaces, and field mounted I/O. TMEIC delivered a “turn-key” system including installation supervision of the automation equipment, commissioning, start up and system performance optimization.

Remarking on the TMACS system, NISCO representatives believe TMEIC’s automatic control software for this mill to be world-class and the most automated plate mill in China due to its robust control system, flexible control strategy and excellent performance.

The 5,000 mm wide (16.4 feet) heavy plate mill project took only 22 months from laying the foundation stone to starting production. The successful rolling of the first plate through the large four-high mill was four months earlier than comparable domestic and overseas projects, and has set a new record in the development history of the company. From running the first plate to the Factory Acceptance certificate was only 7 months, another record.
