Nippon Steel President Doesn't Discard Possibility of New Asian Integrated Plant
10/02/2017 - Although Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. president Kosei Shindo has said the company would stay away from building new integrated plants, it isn’t ruling out the possibility.
"I've said that in principle we won't build integrated blast furnace steel works, which start with melting iron ore, but we could get government requests to build them in Asia. We'll flexibly consider partnering with local companies to participate in blast furnace construction," he said in an interview with The Nikkei.
