Nippon Steel Chairman: No Reason to Give Up on U. S. Steel Deal

01/07/2025 - Nippon Steel Corp. has but one plan for its blocked acquisition of United States Steel Corporation — fight the decision in court.

“There is no reason — or need — to give up on this deal,” Nippon Steel chairman and chief executive officer Eiji Hashimoto told reporters, according to the Bloomberg news service. “I have no thoughts of alternative plans.”
