20 February 2013 - World crude steel production for the 62 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 125 million tonnes in January 2013, a slight increase of 0.8% compared to January 2012.

23 January 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that steel shipments from January through November 2012 were 88,465,543 tons, a 5.6% increase vs. 2011 shipments of 83,779,688 tons for 11 months.

19 December 2012 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of October 2012, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,430,267 tons, a 2.7% increase from the 7,233,375 tons shipped in the previous month, September 2012, and a 6.3% decrease from the 7,933,653 tons shipped in October 2011.
