Posco Delivers Haiti Relief Funds
18 February 2010 - Posco delivered relief funds of USD300,000 for Haiti to the Korean National Red Cross President Yoo Chong-ha on February 10, along with a KRW 78 million donation collected from 9447 employees in online contributions between January 22 and 28.
Danieli Bloom Casters in Operation at Acciaierie Venete, RUE BMZ
17 February 2010 - A new jumbo-size conticaster for large-size blooms from Danieli has operated successfully since November 2009 at Acciaierie Venete, an Italian SBQ producer. Danieli Centro Met also carried out reconstruction and upgrading of the four-strand No. 3 bloom caster at the No. 2 steel melting shop of Byelorussian Steel Works (RUE BMZ) of Zhlobin, Belarus.
ArcelorMittal TB Zaragoza to Deliver Tailored Blanks for Opel Meriva
17 February 2010 - ArcelorMittal TB Zaragoza will deliver yearly around 1.2 million laser welded parts, or tailored blanks, representing around 18,000 tonnes per year of galvanized high-quality steel, for the new Opel Meriva.

16 February 2010 - Tenova Melt Shops has been chosen by Pomina and Thep Viet Steel Group to supply a new melt shop unit with a Consteel® EAF. The melt shop is scheduled to be put in operation at the end of 2011 in Phu My Industrial Zone, near Ho Chi Minh City.
First Stage Startup of Danieli SBQ Mill Completed in Poland
16 February 2010 - The first stage of the new Danieli SBQ (Special Bar Quality) mill at CMC Zawiercie started operation at the end of 2009. Initially the new mill is designed to feed the existing wire rod production outlet.

15 February 2010 - In 2009, the total number of injuries with lost work days in ArcelorMittal Ostrava was nine, compared with a previous 21 injuries. The rolling mills of ArcelorMittal Frýdek-Místek reported no injury with lost work days last year.

Rio Tinto Offers Update on Shanghai Employees
12 February 2010 - Rio Tinto has been advised that the People's Procuratorate has transferred the case relating to the four Shanghai employees, detained since July 5, 2009, to the Shanghai Number One Intermediate Court for trial. A trial date has not yet been set.
New Danieli Special Steels Rolling Mill for Bhushan
12 February 2010 - Bhushan Power and Steel Ltd. has selected Danieli as supplier for its new 500,000-tonnes-per-year rolling mill plant to be installed in the state of Orissa, India, for production of specialty and engineering steel long products. Startup is scheduled for the end of 2010.

Posco Green Growth Committee Declares Emissions Reduction Goals
09 February 2010 - Posco has decided to cut down on carbon dioxide emissions by 9% based on the average of the three most recent years by 2020, as well as to reduce 14 million tonnes of social carbon emissions through manufacturing of energy-efficient steel products and green growth businesses.
