21 December 2012 - As announced, Klöckner & Co is selling its entire Eastern European operations as part of its restructuring program. Activities in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Romania were sold in phase one. The sale of the remaining activities in Poland and Lithuania is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2013.

North American Service Center Shipments Down Year-on-Year in November

18 December 2012 - The slowdown in shipments from 2011 levels that has characterized the second half of 2012, resumed in November after a brief pick-up in October. Inventory to sales ratios deteriorated slightly across the board, the Metals Service Center Institute reports.
