17 March 2010 - U.S. steel mills shipped 6,579,808 net tons for the month of January 2010, a 9.0% increase from the previous month according to the latest report form AISI.

17 March 2010 - United States Steel Corp. announced the pricing of its public offering of $600 million aggregate principal amount of 7.375% Senior Notes due 2020. The notes were priced at 99.125% of the principal amount.

Nucor Announces Guidance for First-Quarter Earnings

17 March 2010 - Nucor Corp. announced guidance for its first quarter ending April 3, 2010. The company expects first-quarter results to be in the range of ($0.05) to $0.05 per diluted share, compared to a loss of $0.60 per diluted share in the first quarter of 2009 and earnings of $0.18 per diluted share in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Patriot Sells Metallurgical Coal to Asian Destinations

16 March 2010 - Patriot Coal reaches agreement to sell approximately 1.5 million tons of metallurgical coal to steel mills in the Pacific Rim, with delivery beginning in April 2010 through early 2011.

10 March 2010 - Steel Dynamics’ board has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.075 per common share, payable on or about April 12, 2010, to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 31, 2010. The company also issued first quarter 2010 earnings guidance of $0.22 to $0.27 per diluted share.

05 March 2010 - The Department of Commerce announced on March 4 that it preliminarily determined that Chinese and Mexican producers/exporters have sold magnesia carbon brick in the United States between 132.74 and 349.00%, and 54.73% less than normal value, respectively.
