American Iron and Steel Institute
AISI serves as the voice of the North American steel industry in the public policy arena and advances the case for steel in the marketplace as the preferred material of choice. AISI also plays a lead role in the development and application of new steels and steelmaking technology. AISI is comprised of 23 member companies, including integrated and electric furnace steelmakers, and approximately 125 associate members who are suppliers to or customers of the steel industry. AISI's member companies represent over three quarters of both U.S. and North American steel capacity.

February U.S. Steel Shipments Drop 9.4% M-o-M and 11.5% Y-o-Y
17 April 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of February 2013, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,436,388 tons, a 9.4% decrease from the 8,210,726 tons shipped in the previous month and a 11.5% decrease from the 8,407,343 tons shipped in February 2012.

18 March 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of January 2013, U.S. steel mills shipped 8,210,726 tons, a 9.7% increase from the 7,483,120 tons shipped in the previous month, December 2012, and a 3.4% decrease from the 8,497,932 tons shipped in January 2012.
