New voestalpine Stahl Headquarters Named "Best Office 2010"

voestalpine Stahl GmbH's new Sales and Financial Headquarters in Linz was awarded the prize “Best Office 2010” at ORGATEC, an international trade show for office design. Integrated into one campus with the company headquarters and voestalpine Stahlwelt, the new building is said to form “the portal” to the voestalpine site in Linz.

The jury considered the project, which was managed by M.O.O.CON® and planned by the architecture company Feichtinger Architectes, to be worthy of the prize due to its positive effect on communication and innovation.

The new Sales and Financial Headquarters includes 400 combi offices, an additional 16 working zones, 20 meeting rooms, 10 project rooms, and 10 desk-sharing workspaces, as well as 16 meeting points and 20 “open communication zones.” voestalpine noted that steel proved “its diverse utility as a high-quality modern product” in this project.

Together with ORGATEC and in cooperation with the Institute of Ergonomics at Darmstadt University of Technology, German magazine “Wirtschaftswoche” awarded the prizes for future-orientated office designs for the fourth time.

The prizes are awarded to companies that introduce new ways of communicating in their office buildings and, in addition to cost-effectiveness, also consider the wellbeing of staff, construction methods that conserve resources, and organizational flexibility.
