“Thanks to the close cooperation between the two companies, the new line was successfully put into operation in spite of the difficult conditions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic,” SMS group said in a statement. 

The high-frequency RD 40 line is set up to produce round, square and rectangular cross-sections with yield points up to 1,200 MPa. 

It is capable of making round tube in diameters between 10 mm and 40 mm, with wall thicknesses of up to 4.5 mm; square tubes up to 30 mm x 30 mm; and rectangular tubes up to 40 mm x 20 mm.  End markets include automotive, furniture, agricultural and solar.
