New Slitting Line to Enhance thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel Production
03/07/2024 - thyssenkrupp Steel has commissioned a new slitting line in Motta Visconti, Italy, replacing an older line and boosting production of high-efficiency electrical steel for the automotive industry, the company has said.
According to thyssenkrupp, the line can slit up to 500 m of steel per minute, and will allows the Motta Visconti plant to double production of electrical steel. The line is equipped to process very thin electrical steel, starting from a thickness of 0.2 mm.
“The new line replaces an existing one that is more than 30 years old and has been built to meet the increased demand from our customers for particularly high-quality electrical steel,” said Roberto Briano, managing director of thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel Italia.
