New Rotary Discharge Machine Put Into Service at Australian Steelworks
02/24/2017 - AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH has built and installed a new rotary discharge machine serving the coke handling system at BlueScope Steel Ltd.’s Port Kembla Works in New South Wales, Australia.
According to AUMUND, the automatic machine operates inside a discharge gullet running through a 50,000 ton coke stockpile. The pile sits atop of the gullet, and the machine’s discharge wheel reclaims coke from one side of the gullet bottom.
The setup helps to mitigate dust emissions as the coke is transferred, AUMUND explained to AIST's Steel News.
