New Reheat Furnaces On Order for Chinese Mill
11/02/2015 - Austria’s ANDRITZ has won an order for two reheat furnaces from Tangshan Iron and Steel Group in China, the company has announced.
The continuous furnaces are for two new hot-dip galvanizing lines to be built at the company’s plant in Hebei province. The lines will have a combined annual total capacity of 670,000 tons and are designed to produce high-strength steels for the automotive industry, according to ANDRITZ.
Start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2017.
ANDRITZ said the furnaces will be fitted with low-NOx burners. Also, the lines will employ ANDRITZ Metals’ Differential Rapid Jet Cooling technology.
The company also will supply automation equipment and key process components, such as the zinc stripping air-knife system and shears, it said.
ANDRITZ said the order follows the successful commissioning of ANDRITZ Metals furnaces and process equipment for another hot-dip galvanizing system and a continuous annealing line at Tangshan Iron and Steel Group. Those furnaces were ordered in 2013 and were up and running 21 months later.
