The website currently offers fourteen general categories of products utilized in metals production accommodating items ranging from raw materials and electrodes to electronics and vehicles. Interested parties create a free account. Sellers can upload product descriptions, available quantities, pictures and data sheets. Buyers make inquiries by a click of a button and HugsList facilitates the transaction; A live, experienced agent brings both parties together, arranging the final price, payment terms and logistics.

HugsList is also promoting a greener environment by offering an outlet for distressed, but usable inventories. Brad Hug, HugsList’s COO, states: “It’s estimated that manufacturers in the U.S produce nearly 176 million tons of waste each year. Much of this is usable inventory just collecting dust and taking up space. We’re taking aim at helping sellers on HugsList avoid disposal fees, clear accounting records and free up valuable warehouse space by turning old inventories into new sales at agreeable prices for all parties.”

There are no fees for posting items or making inquiries at HugsList. The site requires a modest commission only upon the successful sale of an item.
