New Finishing Line Provides Expanded Product Offerings at ArcelorMittal Bar Mill
09/12/2017 - ArcelorMittal’s Canadian long products division in June put a new finishing line into service at its Longueuil, Que., bar mill. The project took 18 months to complete, but the mill never missed a beat, according to Modern Metals magazine.
"Our bar mill operated throughout most of the construction work," ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada communications director Louis-Philippe Péloquin told Modern Metals. "It was a logistics challenge, but the fact that the mill remained in full swing speaks to the resilience and tenacity of our employees."
The new line is allowing the mill to expand its product offerings to include angles that are used in building pylons.
