New Export Mill Planned for Brazil
11/10/2016 - Algerian billionaire Issad Rebrab announced that he plans to build a steel mill in northeastern Brazil, according to the Brazil-Arab News Agency.
Rebrab told the news agency that the project originally had been conceived by iron ore miner Vale, but it ultimately dropped the plan. Now, he said, his company will pick the idea up and run with it.
“We have the market, the technology and the raw material,” he said, according to the news agency.
The mill, which is expected to take three years to build, would make semi-finished steel for export to Europe and Algeria.
