New Cold Rolling Plant Begins to Hit Its Stride
11/23/2016 - A new Turkish cold rolling facility has begun ramping up production and expects to reach its operating capacity by year’s end, according to the facility’s equipment vendor.
“In just few months, Atakaş has produced over 60,000 tons of prime-quality galvanized coils, and, thanks to a remarkable ramp-up, the plant is expected to reach the maximum productivity by the end of this year,” Danieli said in a statement.
Located in Iskenderun, Turkey, the Atakas Group facility consists of a continuous pickling line, two single-stand 6-high reversing mills, a vertical hot-dip galvanizing line and a paint line.
The facility's No. 1 cold mill, pickling line and the galvanizing line are operational now, and commissioning work on the No. 2 cold mill and paint line are proceeding smoothly, Danieli said.
The facility will be capable of producing 1.2 million metric tons annually.
