New CEO Takes the Helm at TPC Wire & Cable

Jeff Crane, 49, joins the company from ERIKS North America, based in Pittsburgh, Pa., USA, where he had served as president and chief executive. He succeeds former TPC chief executive Steve Michalski in the role.

Crane, who has had a relationship with the firm that now owns TPC, was brought aboard to grow the company, both through new sales and acquisitions. TPC makes cables and connectors used in harsh industrial environments, such as those found in steel mills.

“It’s an exciting time to join TPC,” Crane said in a statement. “This is a company with a great reputation for providing customers with premium service and exceptional products that hold up in the toughest applications. The opportunity for growth is significant.”

Prior to ERIKS, Crane was the president and CEO of Pittsburgh’s Lewis-Goetz and Co., a distributor of hoses, seals and belts.

According to TPC, Crane grew Lewis-Goetz from a US$80 million regional distributor to a US$400 million business serving all of the major industrial markets in the United States and Canada.

Crane led Lewis-Goetz during its ownership under private equity firm Audax Group, which sold the business in 2011 to Netherlands-based ERIKS NV. Audax acquired TPC in 2015.
