New Apprentices Begin Training at ThyssenKrupp Steel
09/03/2009 - The new apprenticeship year at ThyssenKrupp Steel AG has started, with a total of 334 new apprentices in 17 professions employed by the company as of September 1.
The new apprenticeship year at ThyssenKrupp Steel AG has started, with a total of 334 new apprentices in 17 professions employed by the company as of September 1.
ThyssenKrupp Steel currently trains about 1170 internal apprentices in addition to about 250 apprentices from other companies. The training centers are located in Bochum, Duisburg, Dortmund, Kreuztal-Eichen, and Finnentrop.
In Bochum, 56 young people will start their apprenticeships, three in commercial and 53 others in technical/industrial professions. In Duisburg, 69 apprentices will be trained in commercial and 151 in technical/industrial professions.
At the Dortmund location, two commercial and 24 technical/industrial apprentices are beginning their training. In the Siegerland, there will be 26 new apprentices, 22 of which are in technical/industrial and the remaining four in commercial. And in Finnentrop, there are six total, two of which are commercial apprenticeships.
All apprentices will attend a one-week introductory course where they get to know each other and learn about the importance of team work and communication.
ThyssenKrupp Steel has already begun accepting applications at its website for apprenticeships beginning in September 2010.
