MRS operates four scrap recycling facilities in North Carolina.
The Whiteville, N.C., facility was recognized for its commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. SHARP is one of the highest honors OSHA awards to small worksites that demonstrate an exemplary commitment to workplace safety and health.
Mr. Ryan Mitchell, general manager, and Mr. Tony Hankerson, safety manager, accepted the award on behalf of the entire MRS staff. Mr. Hankerson thanked employees for their daily contribution to the company’s safety success, stating, “Metal Recycling Services teammates’ commitment to safety has never been stronger, and this award reflects the entire team’s goal of zero accidents. Safety is our number one focus, and providing a safe work environment is our primary responsibility.”
Mr. Bob Eviston, MRS president, thanked all of the MRS teammates, stating: “First and foremost, to the Metal Recycling Services Whiteville team, congratulations and thank you for achieving the SHARP status! As you know, this honor is a result of your personal commitment to working safely, as well as looking out for your fellow teammates, customers, suppliers, vendors, and visitors to the recycling facility every day. The SHARP designation was made possible because of your hard work, dedication and focus to working safely, as well as that of the entire MRS team. This is a significant achievement, and we are all extremely proud.”
