Moscow Metro Rolls on Mechel Steel

The Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line (Large Circle Line) is the largest project in the history of Moscow’s subway construction and will be 70 km long. It will have 31 stations, 10 of which will be launched simultaneously.

More than 7,000 metric tons of rail were used to make 28 km of rail lines between the new stations. According to Mechel, once completed, Bolshaya Koltsevaya will become the world’s longest subway ring line.

Most of the supplies came from Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant’s mills. Mechel has supplied approximately 35,000 metric tons of rolled steel products and 85,000 metric tons of rails for construction of the Moscow Metro over the past five years.
