Morgoil Bearings Moves to New Home

“Moving the Morgoil product line to Warren puts us closer to many of our customers,” said Gabriel Royo, vice president, metallurgical services. “Now, we can provide even faster response and delivery times to steel producers in the central United States.”

Morgoil oil film bearings have been produced in Worcester, Mass., USA, since the product was invented there by Primetals Technologies legacy company Morgan Construction in 1929.

In Warren, Morgoil will continue to make new bearings and will also offer remanufacturing services for used bearings. As a part of the move, the company relocated 12 pieces of equipment and added three new state-of-the-art machine tools that feature reduced setup and run times.

Although the move will put Morgoil closer to U.S. customers, the line reaches far beyond the Midwest — the bearings are used in more than 1,500 mills throughout six continents, said Royo.

“Right now, we are working on several orders that will be shipped overseas — to places like Belgium, India and Mexico,” said Steve Bedard, general manager of the Primetals Technologies Warren facility. “We do a lot of work here in Warren that’s exported all over the world.”
