Morgan Automation Tapped for Water Treatment System Project

In a statement, Morgan Automation said the automation system will govern the water treatment system, which will handle process water and provide the contact and non-contact cooling water for two electric arc furnaces, a caster, tunnel furnace, hot rolling mill, downcoiler, scale pits, cold mill, all ancillary systems and the lagoon.

“Because Morgan Automation has developed a long, successful relationship with Steel Dynamics at its other facilities in Butler and Columbia City, Ind., over the years, designing the water treatment automation system for the facility in Sinton just made sense,” said Mark Sharamitaro, president of Morgan Automation.

Morgan Automation is part of Ohio-based Morgan Engineering, and the contract represents a step forward for the company, it said.

“Automation is already transforming the way our customers do business – leading to safer, more efficient operations. And we’re now prepared to expand our automation services well beyond cranes and material handling systems,” said Sharamitaro.
