MORE Starts Up Catfis Manipulator at Ternium Mexico
04/10/2013 - MORE announced the successful installation and commissioning of a CATFIS manipulator at Ternium Mexico’s 120 ton AC EAF in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
MORE announced the successful installation and commissioning of a Catfis manipulator at Ternium Mexico’s 120 ton AC EAF in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
The Catfis manipulator is designed to automatically measure temperature, carbon/oxygen contents and take samples for steel chemical analysis without having to power-off the furnace. By removing the operator from the furnace door, it provides maximum safety during the melting process. The equipment is installed on the fix platform either on the right or left side of the furnace slag door.
Since 1997, MORE has supplied 176 Catfis automatic temperature/sampling manipulators worldwide, thus confirming its leadership position in the supply of safety equipment to serve the steelmaking industry.
