Mittal: EU Must Take Further Measures in Wake of Steel Tariffs
06/13/2019 - ArcelorMittal chief executive Lakshmi Mittal says the European Union needs to further protect the domestic steel market from imports that are being deflected by U.S. President Donald Trump’s steel tariffs.
"The EU has announced safeguard measures but they weren’t effective,” Mittal told Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, according to the Reuters news service. “Further measures are urgently necessary given the import tariffs U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed on steel imports to the United States.”
