Millcraft SMS Services LLC and Kop-Flex, Inc. have forged an agreement to provide factory-authorized service and repair of Kop-Flex power transmission couplings.

As a result of the agreement, Kop-Flex customers will have more locations for equipment repairs and refurbishment, expert failure analysis and field technical support to keep couplings running like new. The service centers also regularly refurbish, repair and reverse-engineer competitors’ couplings. The additional service centers — located in northwest Indiana for the north central and midwestern United States and in Alabama for the southern and southeastern United States — promise to enhance customer service and convenience and will greatly increase equipment turnaround times.

Millcraft SMS Services will maintain the stringent quality standards required by Kop-Flex using the latest measurement, testing, balancing and welding equipment; inspection tools; and CNC machining centers. Service centers will also be equipped with established Kop-Flex inventory with fully trained maintenance management staff. In addition, experienced Millcraft SMS engineers and field service specialists will work with Kop-Flex technical support to provide failure analyses, inspection reports and consulting services to prolong coupling life and reduce downtime.

Kop-Flex will continue to operate manufacturing, service and repair centers in Baltimore, Md., and in Rexdale, Ont., Canada. Kop-Flex has additional licensed repair facilities in Indiana, Texas and California.
