The move marks a significant expansion of Midrex’s footprint and acknowledges the strength of the MENA region. The new office, Midrex Technologies Gulf Services FZCO, will be located in the Airport Free Zone (DAFZA) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With the region’s abundant resources and pool of talented experts, “the MENA region is a world hub for iron and steel manufacturing,” Midrex said in a statement.

“Throughout the 50-plus years of business, we acknowledge that listening and responding to our customers’ needs has benefited both the industry and Midrex,” general manager of Midrex Dubai, David Oswald, said. “Our hope is that faster response time and flexibility will strengthen relationships with the market and will enable Midrex to maintain its leadership role in direct reduction ironmaking (DRI) technology.”
