The Ukraine-based steel and mining group said “significant economic effect from new products sales have been achieved through market conditions and improved operational efficiency in production and sales.”
 
Most of the new products developed last year were in the company’s steel plate and hot-rolled coil segment. New semi-finished, cold-rolled coil, sections and galvanized coil products were also developed.
 
The company highlighted a few notable examples: Azovstal Iron & Steel Works incorporated nine new steel grades that went into more than 200,000 metric tons of slabs; eight new types of products were manufactured at the newly upgraded hot rolling mill 1700 at Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol; and Unisteel has begun to produce coils with additional oiling to increase weather resistance.
