Merger to Create Major North American Metals Distributor

Namasco and Macsteel will start to operate under a new brand, Kloeckner Metals, beginning on March 1, 2012.

The new brand supports the merger between the two industry leaders, which is to be finalized later this year. According to Kloeckner, once combined these two companies will form the third-largest metals distributor in North America, capable of servicing customers from 57 points of distribution. Kloeckner said that Bill Partalis will oversee the operational side of U.S. activities as Chief Executive Officer of Kloeckner Metals US, a position he will hold in addition to his duties as a member of the Kloeckner & Co SE Management Board.

In support of the re-branding effort, Kloeckner Metals is developing a new website (www.kloecknermetals.com) and will be initiating an advertising campaign to promote the company’s expanded capabilities. The company said it intends to grow organically and through acquisitions, and that its sound financial footing will allow it to offer maximum service and reliability to customers while providing a safe and stable working environment for its employees.
